Lxbio is the entity responsible for the processing of personal data collected through the Site, within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council of 27 April 2016 (hereinafter, “General Data Protection Regulation” or “GDPR”).

For any questions, concerns or requests regarding the processing of personal data by Lxbio, the User may contact Lxbio by e‑mail at info@Lxbio.pt or by letter at Avenida Professor Gama Pinto, no. 2, sala 433, 1600-192 Lisboa, Portugal.

Accessing and browsing the Site, by itself, does not require the provision of personal data nor imply the automatic registration of any personal data that identifies the User. However, the use of certain features, such as the contact form, may imply the collection and processing of personal data by Lxbio.

Lxbio will only retain personal data for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. All data will be processed securely, in accordance with applicable data protection laws, and protected against unauthorized access, loss, disclosure, copying, misuse or modification, using appropriate technical and organizational measures.

This Privacy Policy is an integral part of the Site’s Terms of Use and governs the collection and processing of personal data provided by Users, as well as the exercise of their rights with respect to such data, pursuant to the GDPR. Lxbio does not use cookies or any tracking technologies on its website.

Lxbio ensures that all personal data is processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently, in strict compliance with the GDPR.

1. What personal data is collected, for what purpose, and on what legal basis?

Lxbio collects and processes personal data that Users voluntarily provide when filling out the contact form available on the Site.

The categories of data collected may include the User’s name, e‑mail address, company or organization, phone number, and any additional information the User includes in the message.

The personal data is collected solely for the purpose of managing and responding to the User’s contact request, in the context of pre-contractual procedures or general inquiries initiated by the User.

The processing of personal data is based on the User’s consent, given freely, specifically and informed by voluntarily submitting the form. In certain situations, it may also be based on the need to take pre-contractual steps at the User’s request.

Providing the requested data is necessary in order for Lxbio to respond to the contact request. Failure to provide the mandatory data fields marked in the form will prevent the submission and handling of the request.

Lxbio does not carry out any automated decision-making or profiling activities with the personal data collected.

2. With whom is your data shared and how long is your data retained?

Lxbio does not share any personal data with third parties, except when necessary to comply with a legal obligation, a decision of the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados – hereinafter, “CNPD”), or a court order.

Personal data provided through the contact form is used exclusively for managing the User’s request and is stored only for the period strictly necessary to fulfil that purpose, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Lxbio does not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area. If such transfer becomes necessary, appropriate safeguards will be implemented in accordance with the GDPR.

3. What rights do you have about your data?

As a data subject, the User has the right to obtain confirmation from Lxbio as to whether or not personal data concerning them is being processed, and, where that is the case, access to such data. Upon request, Lxbio will provide the User with a copy of the personal data undergoing processing.

The User also has the right to request rectification or erasure of their personal data, the restriction of its processing, and to oppose the processing, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

The User may also request any additional information, namely regarding the purposes of processing, the categories of personal data concerned, the recipients (if any), and the expected storage period.

The User has the right to receive the personal data they have provided to Lxbio in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to transmit those data to another controller, whenever technically feasible and legally permissible.

The User may exercise any of said rights by submitting a written request to the following email address: info@Lxbio.pt.

4. What security measures are in place?

Lxbio implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk, in particular to protect personal data against unauthorized access, accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration or disclosure.

These measures include internal policies, access restrictions, encryption protocols, and regular monitoring of systems and infrastructures to prevent security breaches.

However, Users are responsible for ensuring that the devices they use to access the Site are adequately protected against harmful software, computer viruses, worms, or other cybersecurity threats. Inadequate protection may increase the risk of unauthorized access to personal data.

Please note that whenever data is transmitted over open networks such as the Internet, it may circulate without adequate security conditions and may be accessed by unauthorized third parties.

5. To file complaints

Whenever the User considers that the processing of their personal data by Lxbio violates the applicable data protection legislation, they have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Portugal, this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, which can be contacted through its website: www.cnpd.pt.

6. Where to see Privacy Policy changes?

Lxbio may, at any time and without prior notice, amend, update or delete this Privacy Policy, in whole or in part, with immediate effect.

Any changes will be immediately published on this page and will apply from the date of their publication.
